The next frontier: Intelligent apps meet agentic AI

Enterprises are entering the next phase of the AI revolution, moving beyond generative AI to embrace agentic AI. Where generative AI augmented human capabilities to automate and accelerate business tasks, the new wave of Intelligent apps harness AI agents that can act on their own and solve complex problems autonomously.

Gartner has predicted that, by 2028, at least 15% of day-to-day work decisions will be made autonomously through agentic AI and that one-third of enterprise applications will use the technology. Meanwhile IDC forecasts that, by 2030, nearly half (45%) of organisations will have orchestrated AI agents at scale, embedding them across business functions.

To navigate this revolution, enterprises need to become agent builders capable of transforming the onerous tasks that bog down human workers into workflows that leverage the power of AI agents and dynamic, intelligent apps.

They need to balance process automation with strategic innovation, using agents and embedded intelligence to reimagine their business.

What would this look like in practice? In the financial services and insurance sector, this could start with automated fraud detection and know-your-customer checks, as well as AI-enhanced data reconciliation, application processing and customer support.

In healthcare, it may mean harnessing agents to do administrative work, accelerate patient diagnostics or transform postoperative care. In the communications or energy sectors, agents could be managing and optimising networks, delivering predictive infrastructure maintenance, dynamically allocating resources and forecasting demand. Across all sectors, intelligent apps and agentic AI have the potential to change business and operational models to drive enterprise competitiveness and growth.

Embedding intelligence at scale

As AI moves away from general models to intelligence embedded in workflows, enterprises will be able to count on more specialised industry-specific agents, empowered with contextual intelligence and domain-focused expertise.

Wipro’s Client Zero journey demonstrates how AI can be embedded into everyday work and engineering at scale. Internally, knowledge work across Wipro’s business functions are reimagined with Microsoft 365. Wipro’s AI-first software development life cycle, enabled by GitHub Copilot, drives measurable gains in developer productivity, code quality and secure engineering through a dedicated GitHub Center of Excellence. Complex use cases and industry problems requiring customized AI solutions are enabled by Microsoft Foundry and Microsoft Fabric. This Client Zero implementation provides a proven blueprint that Wipro now takes to customers — showing how Copilot moves from tools to tangible business impact.

Wipro’s framework to drive AI

Wipro helps enterprises in their journey to become a frontier firm with Wipro Intelligence™, a unified suite of AI-powered platforms, solutions and transformative offerings. WINGS is Wipro’s AI-powered platform for Operations AI, designed to transform IT and business operations. WINGS empowers enterprises to learn, act and evolve autonomously. Meanwhile, WEGA is Wipro’s agent-native delivery platform for Build and Transform, designed to help enterprises accelerate every phase of the development, migration and modernisation life cycle. In addition, Wipro Intelligence Solutions solves complex problems for measurable impact across industries. For example, WealthAI transforms Wealth Management with AI-driven insights across the value chain and PayerAI helps reimagine health plan operations with AI-led support for claims and member services.

Ramachandran Padmanabhan, Chief Partner Officer, Wipro, says:

“Agentic AI is a strategic imperative. Drawing on our Client Zero experience, Wipro delivers tested AI solutions through Wipro Intelligence™ and Innovation Hubs — driving faster outcomes and enterprise-wide impact.”

Powered by Wipro Intelligence AI Platforms and Solutions integrated with the Microsoft Cloud and AI Platform, Wipro supports enterprises on their agentic journey by helping them reimagine, build and deploy agentic AI solutions at scale through a consulting-led approach.

Agentic AI is central to enterprise transformation. Explore how Wipro Intelligence™ platforms like WINGS and WEGA can help enterprises to realise this potential to its fullest.
