Accenture is now starting to link the use of internal AI tools to senior-level promotions, reports the Financial Times. The global consulting firm tracks how often certain managers log in and use AI systems, and regular use becomes a factor in leadership promotions.
The aim is to get more employees to embrace AI. This applies particularly to senior employees, as younger employees have often been quicker to adopt the technology.
Several consulting firms find that older and more experienced managers are more hesitant about AI, which has led to strategies that combine both “carrots and sticks.”
At the same time, some employees have criticized the tools and questioned their quality. The policy does not apply to everyone. For example, staff in twelve European countries are exempt.
