IDC and Kuwait’s Central Agency for Information Technology will explore how CIOs embrace the AI era

How do CIOs position themselves as great agents of change in their organizations? How do they face technological leadership to accelerate digital business in a context of profound change? IDC Kuwait CIO Summit 2024, the event for ITDMs organized by IDC will showcase how IT leaders are prepared to explore the reality of ‘The Future of IT: Rethinking Digitalization for an AI Everywhere World’ on May 13th.

The Kuwaiti government continues to push its digital agenda, in line with the Kuwait Vision 2035 and Kuwait 2040 Upstream Strategy. Across the public and private sectors, organizations are embracing different technologies and establishing digital-first mandates to be at par with their regional counterparts. Many of Kuwait’s leading organizations will now explore and invest in GenAI use cases. IDC believes these organizations need to be ready for an “AI Everywhere” world. IDC forecasts annual spending on AI-centric systems worldwide will surpass 300 billion USD by 2026, while ICT spending in Kuwait will exceed 5.5 billion USD by 2024.

Supported by Kuwait’s Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), the summit will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers and thought leaders at the forefront of digital transformation. Dr.  Ammar H. AlHusaini, Acting Director General of CAIT, will deliver the opening address, setting the stage for insightful discussions and strategic insights.

“I am delighted to announce our role as Strategic Partner for the IDC Kuwait CIO Summit 2024, a testament to our commitment to driving the digital transformation landscape in the country,” said Dr. Ammar H. AlHusaini, Acting Director General of CAIT. “This event underscores our dedication to shaping the future of IT, where artificial intelligence will undoubtedly play a pivotal role. Kuwait is witnessing an accelerated digital journey, with many government-led initiatives being announced daily to support citizens and businesses, and the country’s rapid adoption of AI is reshaping various aspects of businesses, education, healthcare, government entities, and broader society. This highly anticipated event will empower IT leaders in their digital journey and our aim is to foster constructive dialogue between leading tech companies in the region and influential ICT decision-makers.”

In the era of GenAI-driven disruption, technology leaders are reassessing AI’s pivotal role in the digitalization landscape. Given AI’s transformative power to significantly enhance digital innovation, customer experiences, operational efficiency, and sustainability, forward-thinking governments and digitally-driven organizations are adopting an ‘AI everywhere’ mindset and making AI a tech agenda priority to maintain competitive parity with early adopters.

“In today’s era of GenAI-driven disruption, technology leaders are reimagining the strategic implications of AI across various facets of digitalization. From enhancing customer experiences to optimizing operational efficiency and ensuring sustainability, AI is poised to revolutionize the business landscape. Against this backdrop, the IDC Kuwait CIO Summit 2024 will empower technology leaders with the knowledge and strategies required to adopt an ‘AI everywhere’ mindset and embrace AI as a central pillar of their organizations’ tech agendas,” said Jyoti Lalchandani, IDC’s Group Vice President and Regional Managing Director for the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa.
