Oracle’s growing impact in the Middle East: Driving AI and cloud innovation

Oracle has played a pivotal role in the technological transformation of the Middle East over the past three decades, and the company’s presence in the UAE and Saudi Arabia continues to grow stronger. At yesterday’s Oracle Cloud Summit in Dubai, the company made several key announcements, highlighting not only its deepening commitment to the region but also the exciting trajectory of AI and cloud adoption across the UAE and KSA.

Having established its footprint in the UAE 36 years ago and 30 years ago in Saudi Arabia, Oracle has been integral to the region’s digital evolution. The recent announcements about new cloud regions in the Middle East are set to further empower businesses, government entities, and individuals to fully embrace the digital future. These new regions are a testament to Oracle’s confidence in the region’s ability to drive innovation, especially as both countries ramp up their efforts to become global leaders in AI and cloud computing.

Preparing the UAE for an AI-Powered Future

A major focal point of the discussions was the UAE’s ongoing efforts to prepare for an AI-powered economy. As government initiatives such as Digital Dubai continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible with technology, Oracle is playing a central role in helping the UAE unlock AI’s full potential. The UAE’s goal of becoming a global leader in AI is rapidly taking shape, with Oracle’s solutions empowering the government to rethink and reinvent its operations.

For example, the UAE government has already begun exploring how AI can reduce the time spent on government operations, turning weeks of work into just minutes. By working closely with Oracle to implement AI engines and deploy micro apps tailored to government entities, the UAE is positioning itself as an early adopter of AI, with exponential benefits on the horizon.

In Saudi Arabia, Oracle’s impact is also undeniable. With a longstanding presence in the Kingdom, Oracle has been instrumental in helping businesses across industries adopt AI to improve productivity and enhance customer experiences. As AI becomes one of the most important technological drivers of the next generation of digital transformation, Saudi Arabia’s private and public sectors are rapidly embracing Oracle’s cloud and AI solutions to stay ahead of the curve.

A key point shared during the summit was how the Kingdom’s organizations are increasingly investing in AI. With 80% of companies worldwide increasing their AI investments, Oracle’s role as an enabler of this transformation is clear. The company’s ability to provide scalable, high-performance solutions is helping businesses leverage AI for growth and transformation, whether that means improving operations or offering better customer service.

During the summit, His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications noted than 55 years ago, the UAE didn’t even exist as a nation. In a region where every opportunity represents an opportunity for growth, Oracle’s mission has always been clear: to help businesses and governments unlock their full potential through technology. As Oracle continues to expand its footprint in the Middle East, its focus remains on fostering growth, empowering innovation, and ensuring that local organizations can take advantage of the latest technologies to transform their industries.

What’s Next? The Future of Oracle in the Middle East

Looking ahead, Oracle’s commitment to the Middle East is set to strengthen further with its continued expansion of cloud infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. Oracle recently announced the opening of a new cloud region in the Kingdom, marking a significant step in its efforts to support the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify the economy and boost technological innovation. This new region will provide local businesses with enhanced access to Oracle’s cloud services, driving the adoption of AI, data analytics, and enterprise applications. With AI at the core of Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation, Oracle’s expansion will play a key role in enabling local organizations to leverage cutting-edge technologies to accelerate growth and innovation.

As Oracle expands its footprint in Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East, the company is focusing on fostering the region’s digital economy and supporting its AI-driven initiatives. The new cloud regions will provide the necessary infrastructure for businesses to scale their operations and for government entities to implement smarter, more efficient services.
