L’analyse des données prend son envol chez Air Canada

Chez Air Canada, la sécurité est vitale. Et pour celui qui dirige la stratégie informatique qui affecte l’indicateur de performance le plus crucial de l’entreprise, la façon dont les données de sécurité sont transmises au personnel est tout aussi vitale.

« Là où j’investis le plus clair de mon temps, c’est dans la création de diverses versions de l’information pour pouvoir en offrir différentes présentations », dit Shaul Shalev, responsable de l’analyse de la sécurité et de l’innovation chez Air Canada.

Shaul Shalev, manager of safety analytics and innovation at Air CanadaObjectif : permettre au personnel d’accéder aux données de sécurité essentielles — par simple commande vocale ou pression d’un bouton. Cela va bien au-delà du cadre bidimensionnel de l’informatique décisionnelle (ID) classique ; on utilise la réalité augmentée reliées à des tableaux de bord informatisés, des haut-parleurs dédiés relayant l’information en mode audio, des montres intelligentes affichant des KPI comme l’inventaire quotidien des incidents et dommages — le tout par simple coup d’œil à son poignet. Une stratégie globale qui vise à fournir aux employés des données sous la forme qu’ils préfèrent et qui convient le mieux à leurs besoins.

« Nous voulons que le personnel assimile l’information nécessaire sur leurs supports préférés, dit Shalev. C’est ça, le fil d’arrivée de tout ce parcours en informatique décisionnelle. »

Un décollage vers l’analyse de données

Ces innovations et toute application future seraient impossibles sans la base de données ultra- perfectionnée qui les sous-tend.
