If you snagged the popular iOS automation app Workflow juuuuust before Apple bought it and then made it a free service, don’t worry: Apple is gonna give you that $2.99 back. Plus tax.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple is emailing iTunes customers who recently purchased Workflow to let them know that the app is now free and that refunds are imminent.
It’s unclear exactly what the purchase window is for refunds, although 9to5Mac reported one Twitter user had bought his version “some weeks ago.”
When Apple confirmed the acquisition to TechCrunch in late March, a company spokesperson said Workflow would remain in the App Store as a free app, but didn’t say whether Workflow’s technology would be built into iOS. That would make sense, given that Apple is pitching the iPad Pro as a laptop replacement and Workflow’s behind-the-scenes automation is tailor-made for getting work done on in iOS.
