Even if you source the right talent and get them in the door, there are a number of ways your interview process itself could be turning candidates away, actively undermining your interests without you knowing it. Here are several ways your interview process may be broken — and how to fix it.
It’s too transactional
At its core, a job interview involves two parties searching for the path of least resistance to accomplish something, says Nick Cromydas, founder and CEO of recruiting startup Hunt Club. One party, the interviewer, is trying to find the right person to fill a role. The other party, the interviewee, is trying to land a new job. And therein lies the problem, Cromydas says.
