Nominations are now open for the 2025 CIO Awards New Zealand.
The annual awards, presented by IDC and Brightstar with support from CIO New Zealand, celebrate individuals and teams showing exceptional leadership, innovation, and foresight in their contributions to ICT and business.
“These awards play a crucial role in recognising the outstanding achievements and talent of New Zealand’s tech leaders, both current and future,” said IDC Country Manager Louise Francis. “By celebrating visionary leaders and innovative solutions, these awards not only highlight excellence but also set a benchmark for others to aspire to, driving continuous growth for our country while providing inspiration for the next generation of leaders to push boundaries and shape our digital future.”
This year’s program features both established categories and new additions. Organisations can nominate candidates for the coveted New Zealand CIO of the Year and Emerging ICT Leader of the Year awards, alongside newly introduced categories including Innovation Leadership Through an Emerging Technology and Excellence in Customer Value. The lineup is rounded out with Business Transformation through Digital and IT, Community Tech Champions, and Best ICT Team Culture & Inclusion.
The awards organisers said the judging panel is particularly interested in how technology solutions address real-world challenges, the role of team culture in driving initiatives, measurable impact regardless of project scale, strategic vision for the future, and evidence of cross-organisational support beyond IT departments.
Nominations will remain open until Friday, May 13, 2025. Award recipients will be announced at a gala ceremony on 19 August, which typically attracts hundreds of technology executives and industry leaders from across New Zealand.
Those interested in submitting nominations can find additional information and entry forms on the CIO Awards website.
