United States Department of the Army

Administration, Oversight and Growth

• Developed the virtualization architecture responsible for deploying and managing hundreds of VMware hosts that subsequently supported hundreds more vital, virtual machines.

Technical Contributions

• Developed the on-premises, hyper-converged infrastructure and software-defined enterprise cloud with the goal of delivering maximum efficiency and performance. Using Nutanix Virtualization and Cloud solutions, we immediately improve service delivery and datacenter operations, no matter the workload or application type. Acropolis allows us to run any application at any scale; Prism makes it easy to manage virtual environments; and we can implement and manage infrastructures on a large scale with vSphere. We currently oversee 500+ Nutanix nodes for the Department of the Army.

United States Department of Justice (DOJ)

Administration, Oversight and Growth

• Provided technical leadership for the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division’s SAN / VMware project.
• Implemented web application system for the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division.
• Developed accessibility for federal investigators, federal agents and federal attorneys to collaborate on federal case data across the globe.
• Served as technical lead for the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division’s storage and virtualization project.
• Tasked staff and gave technical direction to decrease the organization’s physical computer footprint.
• Decreased spending by $3M on the use of computer maintenance contracts, purchase of computers and power usage.

Technical Contributions

• Designed and configured active/active Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 cluster toward consolidation of numerous Microsoft SQL instances on network-formed layouts for local Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 services and inter-site Microsoft SQL database mirroring.
• Implemented kCura Relativity system and installed application servers.
  • Integrated kCura Relativity with RSA for two-factor authentication.
  • Designed, planned, implemented and tested completed results for functionality.
• Design and supported VMware ESX host upgrade from ESX4.0 to ESX4.1.
  • Designed upgrade plans.

  • Administered VMware Site Recovery Manager.

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

Administration, Oversight and Growth

• Managed the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority’s computer system responsible for generating the most revenue to date for Reagan National Airport. This included parking inventory ticketing, times, amounts, and revenue collection and the operation of back-end computing systems.

Technical Contributions

• Supported the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority’s Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport’s VMware ESX host upgrade from ESX4.1 to ESX5.0.
• Executed upgrade including the designing its plans and testing the completed end result for functionality.

United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)

Administration, Oversight and Growth

• Technical lead for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Inspector General.
• Increased the stability and reliability of email and files by placing resources on the Internet.

Technical Contributions

• Microsoft Office 365 migration: prepare servers for content and mailbox migration; connect Office 365 to the on-premise email system; domain configuration; email routing and verification for all users; welcome/support communications to help them get adjusted to their new email log-in and mailbox.
• Cloud product email and document center on-premise transition to cloud.
• Installed, configured and managed VMware virtualization environment components.
• Provided operation and sustainment support for the virtualization environment.
• Ensured virtualization systems were compliant within security standards.
• Developed and maintained O&S Standard Operating Procedures for VMware virtualization.

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)

Administration, Oversight and Growth

• Provided primary senior engineering services and oversight for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s VMware infrastructure.
• Using vSphere, we deployed an automated, on-demand cloud infrastructure to help the FDIC run efficiently without eliminating any of its business processes.

Technical Contributions

• Responsible for the deployment and management of over 100 VMware ESXi hosts that subsequently supported the many hundreds of more critical virtual machines.
• Provided oversight and technical administration of the VMware vCloud Automation Center and VMware NSX. NSX is the perfect tool to complete the virtualization infrastructure; it allows our team to quickly provide solutions, all without compromising the security or availability of FDIC’s critical applications.
